1. Dates/Terms/Eligibility:

The Malaysia Airlines, “The Gateway to Asia and Beyond” promotion begins January 6, 2014 and ends April 5, 2014. No purchase necessary. Eligible agents may enter once each day during the promotion via the online game entry form and by registering eligible ticket numbers on the promotional website at: www.mhtravelagent.com

Eligible tickets may also be registered by sending information by regular mail on a 3"x5" card with name, company name, IATA or TIDS number, address, city, state, zip/postal code, phone number and email address to: Malaysia Airlines, The Gateway to Asia and Beyond promotion, 7020 E Acoma Drive, Scottsdale, AZ 85254. No mechanical reproductions allowed. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by March 21, 2014 and received by April 1, 2014.  Mail in entries will be entered into the contest in the order in which they are received.

 Eligible tickets must be plated on Malaysia Airlines and issued on published fares in Canada.  Tickets must be issued between January 6 and April 5, 2014 for travel originating in Canada through December 31, 2014. Tickets registered in this promotion will be verified.

 
The promotion is only open to eligible travel agents in Canada (with the exception of agents that are employed in or are residents of the province of Quebec) with a valid IATA or TIDS number and are in good standing with Malaysia Airlines. Void where prohibited. Eligible travel agents must be legal residents of Canada and must be at least 18 years of age.

 2. How to enter:
There are several ways to accumulate entries into the promotion. Details can be found on the promotional website: www.mhtravelagent.com

For bookings made and tickets registered starting from January 6, 2014, the number of entries for each booking is as follows: 

• Business Class tickets are equal to 5 entries per ticket
• Economy tickets are equal to 2 entries per ticket

Note: Ticket registration: eligible tickets must contain at least one segment flown on Malaysia Airlines.

Play the game: Play the Malaysia Airlines quiz game once each day and receive 1 entry towards the weekly drawing of a Cineplex Odeon movie gift certificate and the monthly drawing of a Samsonite gift certificate.  The game plays are only eligible for the weekly and monthly prize in the week/month in which successful game plays were completed.

 

3. Prizes:
Grand Prize: All agents who register a ticket are eligible for the Grand Prize. The winner will be randomly selected from all valid ticket entries and will receive two economy class tickets on Malaysia Airlines along with a 2-night stay at the Shangri-la Hotel in Kuala Lumpur and a 3-night stay at Shangri- La’s Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa in Penang. (Blackout dates apply).

 

Note:  Tickets registered in this promotion will be verified. If an entry is chosen and his or her ticket is not valid a subsequent entrant will be drawn to select the winner.

 

Weekly Prize: The winner will be drawn from entries generated by playing the Malaysia Airlines quiz game or by registering a ticket. Play the game once each day and receive 1 entry towards the weekly drawing of a Cineplex Odeon movie gift certificate valued at $15 CAD.

Monthly Prize: The winner will be drawn from entries generated by playing the Malaysia Airlines quiz game or by registering a ticket. Play the game once each day and receive 1 entry towards the monthly drawing of a Samsonite gift certificate valued at $250 CAD.

 Contestants will have to correctly answer a mathematical skill testing question before the prize is awarded. 

 

All other expenses not specified herein with respect to the above prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners, including airport taxes, fees and surcharges which must be paid by credit card at time of ticketing. The Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of the Grand Prize is $xCAD per ticket. The ARV for the monthly game prize is $250 per Samsonite gift certificate.   The winners may be asked to complete a W-8BEN form in order to receive their prize.  If the travel agency does not allow personal awards it must be noted in a letter so that the award may be given directly to the Travel Agency. Please allow 2 - 4 weeks for processing.

 

4. Prize Selection:
a. The Malaysia Airlines, “The Gateway to Asia and Beyond” Grand Prize winner will be randomly chosen from all eligible ticket entries received by April 6, 2014.  The Grand Prize will be awarded after eligible ticket entry has been determined as a flown or non-refundable ticket.

 
b. Drawing for the weekly prize, Cineplex Odeon movie gift certificate, will be conducted each Monday and include entries completed Monday through Sunday of the prior week.

c. Drawing for the monthly prize, a Samsonite gift certificate February 10, March 10 and April 14, 2014.  Three Samsonite gift certificates will be awarded. 

Note: Winners of all prizes will be notified by e-mail and required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability and Publicity form. Noncompliance will result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. All drawings and prize awards for this promotion will be conducted in Scottsdale, AZ by an independent marketing/judging organization whose decision is final in all matters relating to the giveaways. Odds of winning a prize by drawing depend upon the total number of eligible entries received. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting the online entry, the entry submitted by the person in whose name the e-mail account is registered will be considered the entrant.

 

5. Conditions:
Prizes or awards are non-transferable, and non-refundable. Cash or credit alternatives will not be offered. Prize winner and companion must travel together on all dates/flights and are responsible for all required travel documents (i.e.: valid passports, visas, inoculations, etc.). Winner must be a valid IATA or TIDS agent in good standing with Malaysia Airlines at the time the prizes are awarded, at least 18 years of age and a legal Canadian resident (with the exception of agents that are employed in or are residents of the province of Quebec). A prize letter will be issued to the Grand Prize winner. Winner must make reservations and request tickets at least 30 days in advance of preferred departure date. Seats are capacity controlled and subject to availability at the time of booking. Malaysia Airlines award letter is valid one year from the date of issue. Malaysia Airlines condition of carriage shall apply to all air transportation. Award tickets are valid for Coach Class of service on Malaysia Airlines. Upgrades are not permitted. Travel on award tickets does not qualify for any frequent flyer program credits. Malaysia Airlines is not responsible for the payment of government and airport taxes imposed by the city of origin or destination. Such taxes must be paid with the tickets are issued.

Malaysia Airlines reserves the right to change these blackout dates at any time. Due to limited number of seats available, travel may not be available on preferred travel dates.

By participating in this promotion or the incentive awards, the winner or entrant grants the promoters permission to use their name and likeness for advertising and future promotional purposes without additional compensations (except where prohibited).

Winner will travel to/from the Malaysia gateway city at their own expense. Winners are liable for any tax liability accruing as a result of this promotion. This promotion is void where prohibited. No transfer, assignment or substitution of a prize is permitted by any winner. Entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of Malaysia Airlines, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this promotion.

By participating in this promotion, entrants (and any travel companion of entrants) agree to release and hold harmless Malaysia Airlines, its officers, directors, employees, and agents (the "Released Parties") from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in this promotion, or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention in the promotion; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines; (c) printing errors; (d) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; (e) errors in the administration of the promotion or the processing of entries; or (f) injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant's participation in the promotion or acceptance, receipt use or misuse of any prize. Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Released Parties' liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the promotion, and in no event shall the Released Parties be liable for attorney's fees. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, incidental, consequential, direct, or indirect damages. Malaysia Airlines is not responsible if any prize cannot be awarded due to travel cancellations, delays or interruptions due to acts of God, acts of war, natural disasters, weather or acts of terrorism.

This promotion is not combinable nor endorsable or valid in conjunction with any other promotions.

 

6. Privacy:
Participation in the contest constitutes consent by the entrants to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information by the sponsors and administrators as provided for in the rules and to administer the contest and to notify the winners and entrants and to publicize the contest. By entering this promotion, entrants acknowledge that they have read and understood and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

 7. Winners' names:
For the names of the prize winners or top producer award, send a letter to the sponsor. Names of the winners and top producer will be sent when the promotion is over and prizes have been awarded. Requests for the names of the winners and top producer must be received by April 30, 2014.
